REMEMBER TO TRIM YOUR WICK TO 1/4 INCH
Do this every time you light your candle. This promotes a clean and safe burn, removes any carbon buildup, and prolongs the life of your candle. Wick trimmers can help with reaching into the jar easily and catching debris as you trim (we recommend them), but scissors or nail clippers will also do the trick.
PREVENT TUNNELING
To keep the flame from melting a hole down the center, allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar on the first burn, and every time you light your candle.
USE COMMON SENSE
Don't burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time, and never leave a lit candle unattended, especially around kids and pets. Display it on a fire-safe surface that is far away from anything flammable like furniture, bedding, drapes, books, paper, or decorations. Watch for loose clothing and hair when lighting, and make sure your candle is completely out before leaving the room. Never use water to extinguish a candle and please note that the container may become hot while burning your candle.
If the flame gets too large, or carbon buildup causes a weak flame, extinguish immediately and trim the wick before relighting.
Burning a candle without enough wax can cause the jar to overheat. To allow for a margin of safety, don't burn your candle when there is a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch of wax left in the jar. Time for a new candle and a new scent—how exciting! And when that happens…
